For my birthday a couple of weeks ago, my kids got me the Magic Bullet (it couldn’t have been because I asked for it).  Since my last doctor’s visit I’ve been professing to making healthier food choices. Even though I eat alot of whole foods, I’m not getting near the amount of fruit and vegetable servings I need.  So I thought having the bullet would allow me to make healthy smoothies for a few of my meals.

The thing I love about the Magic Bullet is you make just one serving at a time and you blend it right in the same mug you drink out of.  How easy is that (and so much easier to clean up).  Though the smoothie can easily be made in a blender.

(I’ve listed the ingredients in the order they should be stacked in the bullet – of course in a blender you put them in opposite.)

Ingredients
1/4 cup Blueberries (I used frozen organic)
4 Strawberries
1/2 Banana
2 tbsp Vanilla Yogurt
4 Ice Cubes
1/2 cup Baby Spinach
1/3 cup Orange Juice

Directions
For the Bullet I pulsed the cup until I didn’t hear the ice cubes cracking. You want to use a pulsing so that everything gets knocked down into the blade and blended well. Stick in a smoothie straw and you’re ready for yumminess! This makes one serving. If you’re using a blender you could probably double or triple the recipe for 2-3 servings.
